The Trade Development Representative (TDR) role focuses on channel visitations to drive retailer awareness and turnaround on SIM cards and mobile money float. The successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing brand visibility and merchandising at the point of purchase for Sub-Service Outlets (SSOs) and agents, ensuring optimal sales performance and retailer support within the Machakos region.
Key Responsibilities
SSO & Agent Recruitment & Mapping: Effectively manage the identification and recruitment of agents, targeting mobile money outlets and high-traffic retail stores.
Call Rate Management: Visit SSOs and Agents regularly using agreed route plans (beat plans) to maintain consistent engagement.
Training and Tool Delivery: Provide all requisite tools for transactions at SSO and agent outlets and train personnel on operational processes.
Compliance & AML Training: Conduct Anti-Money Laundering (AML) training and testing for agents, and train SSOs on the Know Your Customer (KYC) process in relation to SIM registration (SIMREG).
Inventory & Stock Management: Monitor and effectively enforce the 1.5x stock rule for agents and ensure SSOs have adequate SIM stocks for new registrations and activations.
Merchandising: Develop and maintain merchandising standards by distributing and placing materials at SSOs and Agent outlets.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a sales and distribution role, specifically within the FMCG or Telecommunications sectors.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong influencing and negotiation skills with the ability to build and network partnerships.
Analytical Thinking: Capacity for analytical thought and a strong focus on customer needs.
