Role Overview
The Senior Associate, Credit Securities Documentation is responsible for the preparation of letters of offer and internal documents. This role ensures the maintenance of a high-quality loan book and safeguards the Bank’s interest by obtaining timely, accurate, and complete internal documentation. Additionally, the role involves tracking and monitoring covenants and other conditions of sanction.
Key Responsibilities
- Credit Approval Review: Review approved credit applications and verify the adequacy of approvals according to the delegated approval matrix, credit policy, and approved sanction terms.
- Contract Preparation: Prepare loan contracts between the borrower and the bank within the set Service Level Agreement (SLA), accurately incorporating all sanction terms, covenants, and conditions to protect the bank's interests and avoid financial losses.
- Collateral Verification: Review collateral information provided in credit applications and confirm accuracy against the core banking system and legal security dockets to ensure correct security details are captured.
- Internal Documentation: Prepare required internal documents within the established SLA.
- Documentation Management: Ensure efficiency in tracking, scanning, delivering, and dispatching approved and duly signed letters of offer and internal documents.
- Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to credit policies and procedures.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Correspond with Relationship Managers, Branch Managers, and the Legal department regarding the preparation of Letters of Offer and internal documents.
- Monitoring: Track and monitor covenants and conditions of sanction to ensure ongoing compliance.
Academic Qualifications & Work Experience
- A business-related degree holder from a recognized University.
- At least 3 years of experience in Credit.
- CPA or ACCA qualification is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Credit and Trade Products.
- Good understanding of the Banking Act and Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) prudential guidelines.
- Proficiency in banking systems.
- Solid understanding of legal risks and laws applicable to Banking and Finance relating to lending and credit documentation.
