Citibank N.A. Kenya is seeking a Head of Services for Kenya at the Director level. This senior leadership role is responsible for the overall design, socialization, and implementation of the Services Strategy in the country. The Kenya Services Head directly or indirectly manages multiple teams through other managers and requires a thorough understanding of the strategic direction of the function within the business, combined with a solid conceptual and practical grounding in the banking industry.
Team / Role Overview
Manage multiple teams, including performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, and budget approval.
Execute functional strategy and determine the approach to implementation.
Accountable for end results, budgeting, planning, and policy formulation.
Negotiate internally at a senior level and represent the function externally as needed.
Drive the commercial objectives of the business through a deep understanding of industry trends and competitor products.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Implementation: Design and implement the Services Strategy in Kenya, ensuring alignment with regional and global objectives.
Business Development: Increase penetration of the Bank’s services within the existing client base and acquire new clients across all segments.
Pipeline Management: Partner with sales origination to manage a pipeline that delivers customer revenue growth.
Client Advisory: Act as a Trusted Advisor to clients for complex cash management, treasury, working capital, and trade services.
Governance & Risk: Ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure by working with Legal, Compliance, Audit, and Risk functions.
Ethics & Supervision: Build a culture of responsible finance and ethical behavior while safeguarding Citigroup’s reputation and assets.
Staff Development: Champion progress and develop people to deliver value to clients and partners.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: A University degree (BA/BSc/HND) is required.
Experience: At least 15 years of total professional experience, including a minimum of 8-10 years of managerial experience.
Product Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of banking products, particularly cash management, trade, and technology-based solutions.
Track Record: Proven success in sales, managing large client relationships, and leading cross-functional teams.
Skills: Advanced marketing and selling skills, persuasive personality, and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
