Kenya Accreditation Service (KENAS) is the Sole National Accreditation Body (NAB) mandated to offer accreditation services in Kenya. Established under the State Corporations Act, it provides formal attestation that Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs) are competent to carry out specific assessments. The Manager for Human Resource and Administration is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic management of the organization's human capital and administrative functions.
Responsibilities
- Policy Development: Guiding the development, interpretation, implementation, and review of HR management and administration policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Terms of Service: Ensuring the consistent implementation of Terms and Conditions of service across the Service.
- Organizational Development: Coordinating organizational development initiatives and job reviews.
- Talent Management: Managing staff recruitment, promotion, discipline, and capacity building; developing and reviewing staff welfare and other incentive schemes.
- Performance Management: Monitoring the implementation of performance management systems and analyzing staffing levels for succession planning and deployment.
- Grievance Handling: Coordinating the development and implementation of effective grievance handling mechanisms.
- Administrative Operations: Coordinating office management services, office accommodation, transport, and logistics.
- Security Coordination: Investigating incidences of security lapses in liaison with the Police and other security agencies.
- Asset Management: Planning for the acquisition of legal documents such as motor vehicle and assets insurances and licenses in liaison with the Legal Unit.
- Digital Transformation: Implementing a computerized Human Resource Management and administration records management system.
Requirements
- At least Ten (10) years relevant work experience in the Public Service or Private Sector, five (5) of which must be in a management position.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Sociology, Government, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
- Master's degree in Finance, Accounts, Human Resource Management, Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, Sociology, Government, Fleet Management, or Supply Chain Management.
- Completion of a Management Course lasting not less than Four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
- Membership in a relevant professional body (where applicable).
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Must fulfill the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya.
