Diageo is seeking a Key Accounts Manager to drive brand aspiration among consumers. This role focuses on influencing high-end consumers through strategic activations and partnerships within top-tier accounts. The successful candidate will be an inspired and motivated commercial manager capable of exceeding goals and projecting a cultural lifestyle through our premium brand portfolio.
Responsibilities
Profit and NSV Targets: Manage profit and Net Sales Value targets, effectively owning the performance of premium numbers.
Customer Partnerships: Develop world-class collaborative customer partnerships and strategies.
Relationship Management: Orchestrate end-to-end relationships through a cross-functional network within Diageo and the customer base.
Brand Activity: Coordinate tailored brand activities by channel and major customer, ensuring the highest standards of execution across specified outlets.
Insights and Strategy: Contribute to shopper and category insights to develop breakthrough strategies; apply data-driven facts to planning, decision-making, and performance measurement.
Forecasting: Work with demand planning resources to develop accurate forecasting, monitoring volume trends to meet business ambitions.
Account Planning: Create and execute world-class account plans and manage brand distribution opportunities for all Reserve brands.
Experiential Events: Coordinate events to build premium brand equity and create trend-setting consumer experiences.
Contracting: Manage contracting processes for target accounts (100% TLA, 50% gold/silver) through Joint Up-weighted Customer Plans (JUCPs).
Execution Excellence
Implement everyday minimum execution standards (365 Essentials) and navigate sales calls using proven commercial selling skills.
Match customer needs to business propositions to deliver 'win-win-win' opportunities.
Demonstrate high commercial competence by managing spend, volume, and margin to positively impact P&L for both Diageo and the customer.
Coordinate the overall execution agenda for accounts, balancing short-term needs with mid-term strategic perspectives.
Qualifications and Experience
A suitable university degree.
High cognitive ability.
3–5 years of experience in commercial functions; cross-functional experience is an advantage.
Proven track record in highly demanding sales organizations, specifically within FMCG and alcoholic beverages.
Solid understanding of challenging trading environments, including channel strategy, pricing, and negotiations.
Experience in resolving conflict-filled situations and negotiating with powerful customers.
