Trainees work directly with entrepreneurs, contributing to the growth of micro and small enterprises and strengthening local economic ecosystems in Kenya.

This traineeship provides structured, hands-on exposure across program implementation and core support functions, equipping participants with strong technical skills, operational insight, and cross-functional experience.
Departmental Opportunities
While the Graduate Trainee program covers multiple departments, this specific opening in Lodwar is primarily centered within the Program (Business Growth Services) Department.
Program - Business Growth Services Department
The department works directly with communities to thrive by supporting micro and small entrepreneurs to develop the skills, access resources, and networks necessary to successfully grow their businesses. Duties include:
Developing a practical understanding of Inkomoko’s business growth model through entrepreneur mobilization and onboarding.
Supporting entrepreneurs to identify market opportunities, expand customer bases, and pursue new revenue streams.
Assisting in workshop coordination, facilitation, and following up with entrepreneurs to reinforce learning outcomes.
Gaining exposure to field-based business performance monitoring through data collection and basic financial reviews.
Identifying partnership opportunities and connecting entrepreneurs to buyers and suppliers.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams (Finance, Investment, MERL, Operations, Communication) to ensure a strong client experience.
Additional Departmental Context (General Program Overview)
Operations and Security: Focuses on procurement, facility management, and operational excellence (primarily based in Nairobi).
People & Culture: Oversees the employee lifecycle and organizational culture, including HR data analytics (primarily based in Nairobi).
Requirements

Must have graduated within the past year or be currently awaiting graduation with a bachelor’s degree.
Prior experience in an internship or graduate traineeship capacity.
Highly energetic: someone who thrives in being on the field and talking to people.
Relationship builder: enjoys fostering connections and managing expectations.
Opportunistic: ability to spot and communicate business opportunities quickly.
Self-Starter: ready to learn on the fly with minimal training.
Excellent computer skills, especially with MS Excel and Word.
