Job Description
Kenya Accreditation Service (KENAS) is the Sole National Accreditation Body (NAB) mandated to offer accreditation services in Kenya. It is established under the States Corporations Act, Cap 446; vide Legal Notice No. 55 of May 2009. It gives formal attestation that Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs) are competent to carry out specific conformity assessment.
The Executive Office Administrator is responsible for managing the administrative functions of the executive office, ensuring the security of office assets, and providing high-level secretarial support to facilitate efficient operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Ensuring security of office equipment, documents and records.
Recording dictation in shorthand and transcribing in typewritten form.
Processing data and managing e-office systems.
Planning and organizing meetings, workshops, conferences, and seminars.
Operating office equipment.
Responding to correspondences and attending to visitors/clients.
Handling telephone calls, enquiries, and appointments.
Handling protocols and confirming travel itineraries.
Managing petty office cash.
Academic and Professional Qualifications
For appointment to this grade, an Officer must:
Have at least Eight (8) years relevant work experience in public service or private sector, three (3) of which must be in a supervisory position.
Have a Bachelor's degree in Secretarial Studies or any other equivalent from a recognized institution.
Have a Diploma in Secretarial Studies from the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC).
Have passed the following examinations from the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC):
Typewriting III (Minimum 50 w.p.m.) / Computerized document processing III.
Shorthand III (120 wpm).
Business English III / Communications I.
Office Management III / Office Administration and Management III.
Secretarial Duties II; or Commerce II.
Have attended a Management Course lasting not less than Four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
Demonstrate proficiency in computer applications.
Show demonstrated results in work performance.
Possess good communication skills.
Fulfil the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya.
