Job Description
Assistant Human Resource Officer
This role involves supporting the management of human capital and administrative functions within TAHAFresh, a premier logistics services provider in Tanzania established in 2008, offering integrated logistics services including airfreight, sea/ocean freight forwarding, trucking, customs clearing and forwarding, as well as insurance.
The Assistant HR Officer shall report to the HR and Administration Manager and be responsible for assisting in the following areas:
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in the development and implementation of HR strategies aligned with the organization’s overall strategy.
Support in reviewing, recommending, and updating HR policies and procedures in compliance with legal requirements.
Assist in managing employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues in collaboration with the HR & Administration Manager.
Support the recruitment and selection processes, including posting job openings, shortlisting candidates, and coordinating interviews.
Assist in managing employee offboarding processes, including conducting exit interviews, processing employee separations, and ensuring compliance with legal and company requirements.
Support the implementation of the performance appraisal system and assist in driving high performance among employees.
Assess training needs and contribute to the development and monitoring of training programs.
Maintain and update employee records, payroll, HR database, and benefit program.
Support in generating HR metrics and providing decision support to management based on HR data.
Ensure legal compliance throughout the human resource management process.
Support in overseeing administrative functions of the organization.
Provide guidance and support to administrative staff, ensuring their professional development and performance management.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or any other related field. A Master’s degree in any related field is an added advantage.
Experience:
At least 3 years of proven experience in conducting HR functions.
