Trainer 2 drives and implements learning and development (LnD) programmes according to set objectives for the region. This role contributes to the strategic orientation and evolution of learning programmes within the Africa region, ensuring that educational initiatives are contextually relevant and aligned with institutional standards.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Training Facilitation: Organize, deliver, and co-facilitate standard institutional training sessions. Conduct ad hoc courses based on specific delegation needs and requests.
Learning Needs Analysis: Contribute to Learning Need Analysis (LNA) conducted across various delegations in Africa to identify educational gaps.
Curriculum Development: Propose changes to pedagogical orientation documents (Document d’Orientation Pedadogiques), exercises, and programs for existing courses. Initiate and autonomously manage the development of new training modules, including report writing.
Adaptation & Evaluation: Adapt existing training to specific contextual needs to solve problems or improve situations. Participate in the conduct of the transfer and impact evaluation using the Kirkpatrick model and carry out satisfaction evaluations after each training session in line with established LnD standards.
Support and Mentorship: Train and brief new trainers in Africa. Support and coordinate training for training relays, updating them on new course materials and LnD developments.
Administrative & Representation: Write detailed reports for animated or co-animated courses. Co-represent LnD Nairobi in various regional meetings as requested.
Quality Assurance: Ensure consistency and quality of training curriculum and practices in line with ICRC’s training policies and ensure they are contextually relevant to different contexts in the region.
Material Management: Continuously update training materials for existing courses and manage the development of new content in collaboration with subject matter experts.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in adult training methodology.
Certifications: Certificate in Training of Trainers (ToT) from a recognized institution or equivalent qualification.
Language Proficiency: Fluent command of both written and spoken Arabic at a C1 Level.
Technical Expertise: Proven experience in facilitating learning events. Experience in training design is considered a strong asset.
