The Theatre Technician will be responsible for providing technical support within the operating theatre, ensuring that all equipment and environments meet the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance: Prepare and maintain operating theatre equipment and instruments.
Sterilization: Ensure proper sterilization and strict adherence to infection prevention and control standards.
Surgical Support: Assist surgeons, nurses, and anaesthetists during various surgical procedures.
Inventory Management: Monitor and restock operating theatre supplies to ensure continuity of operations.
Environment Care: Maintain the cleanliness and readiness of the theatre at all times.
Requirements
Education: Relevant certification in Theatre Technology or a related field (BA/BSc/HND).
Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience working in a busy operating theatre.
Expertise: Proven ability to support a wide range of surgical procedures.
Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of theatre equipment handling, sterilization, and infection control protocols.
Soft Skills: Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a high-demand environment, with excellent teamwork and communication skills.
