The Techhub & Innovation Officer will support the implementation of technology and innovation initiatives within Ol Pejeta Conservancy. This role involves assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Techhub, coordinating technology projects, providing technical support, and contributing to the development of innovative solutions that enhance conservation efforts, operational efficiency, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Project Assistance and Coordination: Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of technology-driven projects within the Techhub. Support project documentation, monitor timelines, and ensure deliverables are met in alignment with organizational objectives.
Technical Support and Innovation Implementation: Provide technical assistance in setting up, testing, and deploying innovative technologies such as IoT devices, sensors, and data collection tools. Support the integration of new technologies into existing systems.
Techhub Operations and Management Support: Assist in managing the daily activities of the Techhub, ensuring it remains a dynamic space for collaboration. Help maintain equipment, coordinate logistics, and support events, workshops, and training sessions.
Data Collection and Analysis: Support the collection, storage, and analysis of data generated from technology deployments. Ensure data accuracy and assist in presenting findings to various stakeholders.
User Training and Documentation: Assist in developing user guides, manuals, and training materials for staff and community members. Provide basic training and technical support on digital tools.
Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration: Coordinate with internal teams and external partners, including technology vendors and research institutions, to support projects and knowledge sharing.
Continuous Learning and Innovation: Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices in technology-driven conservation. Suggest new tools, processes, and ideas.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Certifications in enterprise IT, data management, or relevant technology fields are advantageous.
Minimum 3 years of experience in technology support, project coordination, or innovation roles, preferably within a conservation, non-profit, or corporate environment.
Proven experience in implementing and supporting technology solutions for operational efficiency and conservation.
Skills and Competencies
Strong technical skills in hardware setup, software deployment, and data management.
