The Senior Officer- Bancassurance is responsible for building, maintaining, and growing Bancassurance relationships to increase revenue by delivering world-class customer service. The role holder must meet set retention targets, increase portfolio profitability, and grow the portfolio through upselling benefits, proper loading, and claims control.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Process Improvement
Continuously assess and improve bancassurance processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and overall customer experience.
Identify opportunities for automation, digitization, and streamlining of premium administration activities.
Drive operational excellence by setting clear goals and performance metrics and monitoring performance.
Collaborate with IT and operations teams to select and implement appropriate technology solutions, including policy administration systems and workflow automation.
Operational Management
Manage an allocated bancassurance retail portfolio by meeting retention targets and increasing premium and lives volume through organic growth.
Cultivate and manage productive partnerships with partner banks and non-bank financial institutions.
Act as the primary point of contact between clients/banks and Jubilee Insurance (JLIL).
Promote life insurance products and services to bank clients, leveraging referral networks to generate leads.
Organize and attend regular client/bank meetings, ensuring actions are documented and followed up within set turnaround times (TATs).
Gather market intelligence on renewals and tender business to ensure competitive pricing.
Provide accurate and timely quotes for new and existing business in line with JLIL risk strategies.
Implement annual customer touchpoints and maintain records of customer service journeys.
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure prompt issuance of debits, credits, cards, and policy documents.
Respond to all inquiries (calls, letters, emails) and resolve complaints proactively via an issues log.
Train intermediaries and clients on medical products, benefits, limits, and other product features.
Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual portfolio performance reports, including claims experience trends.
Corporate Governance and Compliance
Stay updated with insurance regulations and underwriting best practices to ensure compliance.
Adhere to the laws and regulations of Kenya and all internal company policies.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and establish mitigation measures against emerging business risks.
People and Culture
Build and lead cross-functional project teams, fostering collaboration and accountability.
Drive improvements in the Employee Engagement Score (EES) through transparent communication and empowerment.
Embed company values (innovation, teamwork, excellence) into team dynamics.
Provide mentorship and training to team members on departmental tools and industry-specific knowledge.
Mediate and resolve team conflicts or stakeholder disputes.

Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Finance, Business, or any other related course.
Minimum 3-4 years’ experience in a similar role.
Proven track record in sales and relationship management, preferably in the bancassurance or insurance sector.
Exposure to sales or customer service roles within the insurance or financial services domain.
Diploma in Insurance qualification is an added advantage.
LOMA/CII/IIK Qualification is an added advantage.
