As a Senior Analyst (SA) within BCG's Social Impact Practice Area, you will help win, deliver and execute on highly impactful donor and philanthropic-funded international development projects in low and middle-income countries. You will collaborate and partner in a growing global team, providing industry expertise and insights for the development sector with a specific focus on supporting BCG to win and execute programs for large bilateral donors, multilateral donors and foundations. You will serve as a thought partner by developing content that can be leveraged for BCG tenders and programs and contributing to the management of tender processes and programs for BCG.
You will work across sector positioning, business development, knowledge management and project delivery. You will play an active role in shaping the intellectual property, market perspectives and commercial strategy of BCG’s Development Impact offer. You will be predominantly staffed on business development, both developing a knowledge base to strengthen BCG’s offer in the sector and working directly on high priority tenders.
Key Responsibilities
- Knowledge Management: Maintaining and growing a knowledge library of BCG capabilities, tools and experience across key topics in the Development Impact sector. This includes asset development of key tools such as topic credentials and team capability statements, and productizing insights into knowledge assets.
- Bid Management: Managing and contributing to bids for development sector clients such as USAID, FCDO, World Bank, and BMGF. This includes liaising with central client teams for pre-positioning, partner engagement, research, RFI, and tender responses.
- Program Execution: Contributing to program delivery by providing industry insights, building strong client relationships, ensuring high-quality reporting, and supporting adherence to best development sector practices.
- Analysis and Insights: Delivering original analysis and customized insights for sector positioning and client projects by leveraging specific experience or knowledge assets (products, tools, data, frameworks, etc.).
- Strategic Support: Supporting BCG teams and clients to achieve development impact and commercial objectives through research and analysis, working both independently and under guidance.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree required (advanced degree preferred) with high academic achievement in economics, political science, business, international relations, or related areas.
- Consulting Experience: 2+ years of consulting experience in donor-funded consulting and business development preferred.
- Industry Experience: In lieu of consulting, a minimum of 3 years of industry experience is required (4-6+ years preferred).
- Sector Knowledge: Strong business development and project management experience with leading donors like FCDO, USAID, BMGF, or the World Bank.
- Technical Expertise: Knowledge of organizational design, operating models, talent development, and change management, preferably within government policy or program delivery.
- Skills: Strong business acumen, problem-solving capabilities, and excellent written/verbal communication skills (English proficiency required).
- Interpersonal Skills: Outstanding ability to interact with global stakeholders in a collaborative team environment.
