Role Overview\n\nThe Member Affairs Manager is a key leadership role responsible for driving membership growth, engagement, and advocacy support within a healthcare association. This position focuses on recruiting and onboarding private hospitals, nursing homes, and specialized medical facilities while ensuring high member satisfaction through retention programs and localized support. The manager also acts as a bridge between members and regulatory bodies, ensuring that the association's advocacy is informed by real-world feedback from the healthcare sector.\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n\n* Member Recruitment & Onboarding: Develop and execute strategies to expand the membership base, targeting private hospitals, outpatient clinics, and specialized facilities (e.g., dental, renal). Manage the entire onboarding process for new facilities.\n* Retention & Engagement: Design and implement programs to maintain member loyalty. Serve as the primary point of contact for resolving member grievances and inquiries.\n* Advocacy & Policy Support: Gather member feedback on regulatory, commercial, legal, and tax issues (e.g., SHIF regulations, Health Act) to inform lobbying efforts with government and industry stakeholders.\n* Chapter Coordination: Oversee regional branch activities to ensure they align with national office goals and provide localized support to members.\n* Strategic Partnerships: Identify and negotiate partnerships with equipment suppliers and insurance firms to provide exclusive benefits and discounts to members.\n* Event Management: Lead the planning and execution of major events including the Annual General Meeting (AGM), regional conventions, workshops, and Continuing Medical Education (CME) sessions.\n* Communication: Maintain the membership database and manage the distribution of newsletters, policy updates, and industry alerts.\n\n### Skills and Competencies\n\n* Stakeholder Management: Confident in navigating relationships with hospital owners, medical superintendents, and government officials.\n* Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using CRM software for tracking interactions and dues, and data analytics for growth/churn reporting.\n* Policy Expertise: Solid understanding of the Kenyan Healthcare Regulatory framework, including the Health Act, KMPDC Act, and SHIF regulations.\n* Communication & Negotiation: Exceptional written and oral communication skills; proficient in presenting at high-level forums and negotiating corporate partnerships.\n\n### Qualifications and Requirements\n\n* Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Management, Business Administration, Public Relations, or Social Sciences.\n* Advanced Education: A Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) or Strategic Management is highly desirable.\n* Professional Membership: Active membership in a relevant professional body, such as the Health Systems Management Association (HeSMA).\n* Experience: At least 5–7 years of experience in a membership-based organization, ideally within the healthcare or professional services sector.\n* Management: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a management or leadership role.\n\n### How to Apply\n\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply online via the CDL recruitment portal.
