The MBA Summer Associate 2026 position within the Innovation Lab is a contract role, typically spanning 12 weeks, starting in early June and continuing until early August (with some flexibility). As an MBA Associate, you will focus on identifying and evaluating investment opportunities, conducting macroeconomic market assessments, and providing critical transaction support. Experience working in developing countries is preferred.
Primary Responsibilities
The Associate will be responsible for:
Leading Transaction Advisory Work
- Sourcing and evaluating potential investment opportunities.
- Sourcing and leading investor reach outs on behalf of companies’ management.
- Supporting transactions through due diligence and post-investment strategy.
Conducting Market Assessment and Ongoing Trend Analysis
- Undertaking macroeconomic, regulatory, and operational assessments.
- Providing sector analysis of priority areas for investment.
Driving CrossBoundary’s Growth in New Markets
- Pitching and overseeing proposal responses for strategic new business opportunities which are aligned with CrossBoundary’s mission.
- Identifying and synthesizing key trends amongst our clients and the geographies which we serve.
- Managing investor relationships.
Qualifications and Attributes
Education & Experience
- Current MA or MBA candidate.
- 4+ years experience in top tier banking, consulting, private equity, or similar.

- Excellent analytical ability and discipline; ability to think clearly, structure problems logically, and then design and implement solutions that focus on the core issues.
- Ability to build strong relationships with partners and colleagues in challenging environments.
- Exceptional presentation skills and ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated leadership skills; preferably in fast-moving and entrepreneurial environments.
- Proficient in basic accounting, financial modelling, financial forecasting, and budget development.
- Deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities businesses face in frontier markets, as well as the macro-economic trends that impact them.
