Agro-Chemical and Food Company Limited (ACFC) was established in 1978 to produce power alcohol from sugarcane molasses. The Manager, Production is responsible for ensuring production targets are met through proper utilization of staff and equipment while adhering to strict safety and quality standards. This leadership role involves budgeting, maintenance planning, and process compliance to guarantee the production of high-quality bakers’ yeast and alcohol.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure production targets are met through proper utilization of staff and equipment.
Ensure the department adheres to laid down production standards and safety protocols.
Prepare budgets, daily and monthly reports on production and consumption to guarantee set targets.
Plan and organize for weekly, monthly, and annual process maintenance of all equipment in the production plant in consultation with the Engineering manager.
Ensure timely procurement and utilization of quality process chemicals and materials.
Maintain good housekeeping standards that comply with statutory requirements in Product Quality.
Ensure process compliance with ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 22000:2005.
Provide technical leadership to teams to develop, implement, and evaluate strategic management plans and budgets.
Participate in the recruitment and selection of staff to ensure necessary job competencies.
Review incidences of violations against organizational policy and handle employee disputes.
Conduct training needs assessment and implement programs to equip staff with appropriate job competencies.
Plan, monitor, and evaluate the performance of staff against set targets and objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
At least twelve (12) years of relevant experience, five (5) of which must be at a management level in a manufacturing company.
Master’s degree in Food Science and Technology, Analytical Chemistry, Biotechnology, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Technology, Analytical Chemistry, Biotechnology, or an equivalent qualification.
Completion of a leadership course lasting at least four weeks.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Membership to a relevant professional body.
Must fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya.
