The Manager, Faculty Development is responsible for the design, execution, and facilitation of comprehensive strategies and initiatives aimed at enhancing faculty performance. The role focuses on improving teaching effectiveness, curriculum quality, and student engagement across the institution through continuous professional development.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement long-term faculty development strategies that align with the university's institutional goals.
Mentorship & Coaching: Lead faculty mentorship programs and provide individualized coaching to improve overall teaching effectiveness.
Pedagogical Guidance: Advise faculty on pedagogical best practices, active learning strategies, and techniques for increasing student engagement.
Program Evaluation: Utilize data, faculty feedback, and industry best practices to evaluate and improve faculty development initiatives.
Workshop Facilitation: Design and lead impactful workshops focused on innovative teaching methods, curriculum design, and assessment strategies.
Policy Contribution: Participate in the creation of institutional policies regarding faculty teaching and learning standards.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with academic leadership, deans, and various faculty committees to drive teaching and learning initiatives.
Instructional Technology: Support faculty members in adopting and integrating new instructional technologies and digital teaching tools into their workflows.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Education, Instructional Design, Higher Education Leadership, or a related field. Candidates with a Master’s degree will be considered if accompanied by extensive, directly relevant experience.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in faculty development, instructional design, or academic training within a higher education setting.
Subject Matter Expertise: Strong knowledge of teaching and learning best practices, curriculum design, and faculty mentoring.
Leadership: Proven experience leading institution-wide faculty development programs.
Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to use data and assessment tools to measure the impact of development initiatives.
Technical Proficiency: High proficiency in learning management systems (LMS), educational technologies, and digital learning platforms.
