Assistant Professor in Machine Learning and Big Data/ Data Science

Key Responsibilities

• Teaching: Instruct students at undergraduate and graduate levels in specialized areas including Machine Learning and Big Data/Data Science.
• Student Mentorship: Support and mentor students in their academic growth and career endeavors.
• Curriculum Development: Participate in curriculum development activities to ensure programs are current and marketable.
• Assessment: Participate in program assessments and reviews.
• Research Supervision: Supervise undergraduate and graduate research projects, theses, and dissertations.
• Research: Engage in original research within the area of expertise.
• Service: Contribute service to the university, the profession, and the community.
• General Duties: Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the university leadership.

Minimum Educational Qualifications and Professional Experience

• A Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in a relevant area from an accredited University.
• At least 3 years of teaching/research experience at the university level as a Lecturer/Research Fellow.
• A minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points as a Lecturer/Research Fellow as per the CUE Standards & Guidelines (2014), with at least twenty-four (24) points from refereed scholarly journals.
• Successfully supervised at least four (4) postgraduate students to completion as a Lecturer/Research Fellow.
• Registered by the relevant professional body, where applicable.
