Job Description
United States International University - Africa is an independent, not-for-profit institution serving a diverse student population with degree programs from undergraduate to doctoral levels. The successful candidates will be reporting to the Dean, the School of Science and Technology (SST) and will be expected to teach, conduct research and engage in service performance.
Key Responsibilities
Teach at undergraduate and graduate levels in the specific areas of specialization: Robotics and System Automation.
Support and mentor students in their career endeavors.
Participate in curriculum development activities to ensure that the programs are up-to-date and marketable.
Participate in program assessment and reviews.
Supervise students’ research (projects/ thesis/ dissertations) at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Engage in research in one’s area of expertise.
Engage in service to the University, the profession and to the community.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications and Experience
A Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant area (Robotics, System Automation, or related fields) from an accredited University.
At least 3 years of teaching/research experience at the university level as a Lecturer/Research Fellow.
A minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points as a Lecturer/Research Fellow as per the CUE Standards & Guidelines, 2014, of which at least twenty-four (24) should be from refereed scholarly journals.
Supervised at least four (4) postgraduate students to completion as Lecturer/Research Fellow.
Registration by the relevant professional body, where applicable.

Self-motivated and highly-disciplined.
Excellent command of the subject area including lesson planning.
Capacity for managing ambiguity, emotions, and technological change.
Strong communication, listening, and mediation skills.
Proficiency in fundraising and grants writing.
Excellent presentation and research writing skills.
