Lecturer in Machine Learning and Big Data/ Data Science

Key Responsibilities

• Teach at undergraduate and graduate levels in Machine Learning, Big Data, and Data Science.
• Support and mentor students in their career endeavors.
• Participate in curriculum development activities to ensure programs remain up-to-date and marketable.
• Participate in program assessment and reviews.
• Supervise student research projects, theses, and dissertations at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Engage in research within the area of expertise.
• Provide service to the University, the profession, and the community.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Educational Qualifications and Professional Experience

Applicants must meet one of the following sets of criteria:

Option 1 (PhD Path):

• An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized university.
• Registered or registerable with the relevant professional body.

Option 2 (Master's Path):

• A Master’s degree in related areas from an accredited university.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in teaching and/or industrial experience in the relevant industry.
• A minimum of twenty-four (24) publication points as per CUE Standards & Guidelines, 2014 (at least 16 points must be from refereed scholarly journal papers).
• Currently registered for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or equivalent Doctoral degree qualification.
• Registered with the relevant professional body.
