High School Mathematics/ Physics Teacher (Eldoret Girls High School)

Key Responsibilities

• Teach and deliver exceptional, real-world, enquiry-based Mathematics/ Physics lessons that align with the Kenya curriculum requirements.
• Maintain positive, constructive, and professional relationships with students, their families, and colleagues.
• Develop lesson plans and partner with the Learning Design Team in reviewing and updating lessons when required/desired.
• Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning, developmentally appropriate, and organized.
• Infuse joy and passion for learning into lessons to excite and interest students in academic excellence.
• Provide necessary accommodations and modifications for the growth and success of all students in both academic and culture expectations.
• Be accountable for students’ mastery of content and academic standards.
• Integrate interactive technology into lessons to enhance instructional delivery.
• Set and communicate rigorous and ambitious goals for all students and provide effective feedback.
• Provide consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behavior and model expected behavior.
• Serve as teacher on duty and/or boarding teacher on duty and support school-wide programs aimed at behavior interventions.
• Timely capture student data on academic outcomes and articulate progress to families and stakeholders.
• Serve as a home room teacher when called upon.

Skills and Qualifications

• TSC (Teachers Service Commission) certification and a relevant Degree in Education.
• Strictly 3+ years of teaching experience in Mathematics/ Physics.
• Great communication skills with the ability to provide clear and effective written and verbal communication.
• Flexibility and openness to change, with the ability to handle uncertainty and ambiguity.
• Proactive problem solver who identifies issues and finds appropriate solutions.
• Alignment with organizational culture, including a willingness to embrace mutual vulnerability and feedback.
