GrowthAfrica is seeking a Head of Talent & Human Capital to lead the organization’s people strategy. This strategic role is responsible for aligning talent, culture, and systems with the mission and growth of the organization across multiple African regions, including East, South, West, and the Horn of Africa. The successful candidate will act as a pivotal partner to leadership, driving operational excellence across the entire employee lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- People Strategy: Design and lead GrowthAfrica’s people strategy, ensuring talent and culture are aligned with the mission and growth objectives.
- Talent Acquisition & Retention: Drive recruitment and retention efforts by working with partners to ensure high-quality talent is available at all organizational levels.
- Onboarding: Optimize and manage the onboarding process to effectively support business objectives.
- Learning & Development (L&D): Lead all L&D activities, including needs assessment, development planning, and managing implementation partners.
- Staffing Management: Coordinate and allocate resources effectively across core business activities.
- Culture & Values: Cultivate organizational culture, ensuring values are lived daily and team members have clear goals to thrive.
- Compensation & Benefits: Manage compensation and benefits using industry benchmark standards and best practices.
- Performance Management: Oversee the appraisal and performance management processes using established tools.
- HR Operations: Maintain HR policies, procedures, and systems to ensure consistent administration aligned with organizational goals.
- Engagement & Reporting: Maintain organizational engagement and deliver strategic reports on talent acquisition, retention, and strategy to the leadership team.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Master’s degree in Business Management, Human Resources, Organisational Development, Behavioural Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in strategic HR-related roles.
- Strong track record of translating business strategy into comprehensive people strategies.
- Extensive experience advising leadership on talent, capability development, and organizational effectiveness.
- Proven hands-on experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, engagement, compensation, and succession planning.
- Experience leading diverse and geographically dispersed teams across East, South, West, and the Horn of Africa.
