Divine Caterers Ltd is a dynamic food catering company providing culinary services for all types of events, including weddings, "before the wedding" functions, parties, conferences, corporate and office functions, birthday parties, and launches. We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Head Chef to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth running of all kitchen operations, while consistently delivering exceptional food quality, presentation, and hygiene standards.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Culinary Leadership: Direct all aspects of food preparation and ensure the production of consistently high-quality dishes.
- Multi-Unit Oversight: Provide operational guidance and leadership for various culinary units managed by the company.
- Menu & Event Innovation: Create unique menu items, develop new recipes, and collaborate closely with the Operations Manager to tailor culinary offerings specifically for clients and diverse events.
- Operational Management: Lead and manage a diverse kitchen team, including Sous Chefs, Cooks, and trainees.
- Reporting & Strategy: Submit regular, comprehensive reports on culinary operations and performance directly to the General Manager.
- Quality Control: Develop and rigorously monitor Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all kitchen units to ensure consistent quality output and maintain profitability.
- Safety & Hygiene: Maintain strict adherence to all food safety, hygiene, and local health department regulations.
- Team Development: Design and coordinate targeted training programs to enhance overall team performance, skills, and morale.
- Resource Management: Oversee entire kitchen inventory, managing stock levels efficiently, and coordinating with the purchasing department to maintain required quality standards for ingredients.
Qualifications
To be considered for this pivotal role, the ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Culinary Arts, Food Production, or Hospitality Management from a recognized institution.
- Additional training or certification in Food Safety and Hygiene is highly advantageous.
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a senior culinary leadership role.
- Strong ability to manage multiple units and teams effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Deep knowledge and practical expertise in food safety, hygiene, and kitchen SOPs.
- Demonstrated passion for culinary excellence, creativity, and commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and during peak event seasons.
