Role Overview
Mogo Finance is seeking a dedicated Field Collection Officer to manage client accounts and ensure payment compliance. The primary focus of this role involves visiting clients with overdue cases, persuading them to fulfill their payment obligations, and recovering assets in instances where standard follow-up methods have been ineffective. You will act as a critical link between the company and its clients, ensuring debt recovery is handled professionally and efficiently while maintaining safe custody of company assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Visitation & Payment Compliance: Visit clients with overdue cases to persuade them to make payments and ensure overall payment compliance.
- Asset Repossession: Execute the repossession of offline Boda Bodas from clients who have failed to comply with contractual payment schedules, particularly when telephone follow-ups and demand letters have failed.
- Debt Recovery Management: Handle debt recovery and asset repossession in a professional manner.
- Inter-Agency Collaboration: Work closely with police officers and various government agencies regarding Mogo-financed assets to ensure their safe custody.
- Regulatory Awareness: Stay updated on new measures and laws regarding motorbikes and their impact on daily operations.
- Reporting & Investigation: Prepare detailed investigation reports on missing bikes and provide recommendations to internal credit analysts for risk analysis and approvals.
- Incident Analysis: Compile reports on incidents and recommend strategies to avoid similar occurrences in the future.
- Innovation: Develop and implement better ways of tracking and monitoring company assets.
- Strategy Development: Prepare weekly and monthly recovery reports and formulate effective recovery strategies.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Education: Minimum of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE). (Note: Platform metadata suggests BA/BSc/HND candidates may also apply).
- Experience: Previous experience in debt recovery will be an added advantage.
- Licensing: Must possess a valid driving license including the A2 category (MANDATORY).
- Language: Fluent in both English and Swahili.
- Competencies: Self-motivated with the initiative to solve complex problems and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Skills: Excellent negotiation and analytical skills with a customer-oriented attitude.
