Job Description
The Makueni County Public Service Board is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Director of County Administration. This is a senior leadership role within the county government responsible for providing strategic direction and administrative oversight. The position is offered on Permanent and Pensionable terms at Salary Job Group 'R'.
Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership and administrative direction for county functions.
Coordinate and oversee the implementation of national and county policies, goals, and objectives.
Ensure effective management of administrative resources and staff performance across departments.
Relate national development goals to the local county administration framework.
Ensure compliance with the legal and regulatory frameworks governing public service.
Facilitate community development initiatives and public participation through administrative structures.
Requirements for Appointment
Minimum of twelve (12) years of work experience, with significant time in a comparable and relevant senior position in the Public Service or Private Sector.
Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration/Management, Community Development, or any other Social Science from a recognized institution.
Master's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration/Management, Community Development, or any other Social Science from a recognized institution.
Certificate in Senior Management Course (SMC) or its equivalent (lasting not less than 4 weeks) from a recognized institution.
Certificate in Strategic Leadership Development Programme (SLDP) or its equivalent (lasting not less than 6 weeks) from a recognized institution.
Diploma in Advanced Public Administration or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
Full compliance with the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
Demonstrated thorough understanding of national goals, policies, and objectives.
Salary and Benefits
Salary Job Group: 'R'
Salary Scale: Ksh. 127,340 – 182,890 per month.
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable.
