Job Description
The Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) is the Drug Regulatory Authority established under the Pharmacy and Poisons Act, Chapter 244 of the Laws of Kenya. The Board regulates the Practice of Pharmacy and the Manufacture and Trade in drugs and poisons, aiming to implement regulatory measures that achieve the highest standards of safety and efficacy. PPB is seeking a Corporate Communication Officer to assist in developing and implementing communication, customer, and branding strategies to support the Board's objectives and enhance its corporate image.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assisting in developing, implementing, and reviewing communications, customer, and branding strategies.
Supporting activities designed to enhance the corporate image of PPB.
Monitoring internal and external media communication functions.
Managing protocol and organizing Board-planned events and functions.
Developing and reviewing content for media publicity, speeches, publications, and Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials.
Carrying out public awareness programmes.
Updating the PPB website and social media platforms in liaison with relevant functional areas.
Supporting the implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives and preparing reports.
Coordinating responses to customer enquiries by receiving, analyzing, and sharing feedback.
Reviewing and submitting periodic reports and multimedia publicity materials.
Requirements for Appointment
Must have served in the grade of Senior Assistant Customer Care Officer for a minimum period of four (4) years or equivalent relevant experience.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications, Communication Studies, Journalism, Public Relations, International Relations, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
Must fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
