Job Description
Garissa University is seeking to recruit two (2) qualified individuals for the position of Cook (Grade 4) under Advert No: GaU/HR/EA/12/26. The successful candidates will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and ensuring the safety of culinary operations. This role is ideal for individuals with a background in food production and a commitment to excellence in service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation: Prepare various types of food according to established standards and recipes.
Kitchen Maintenance: Clean work stations and maintain high levels of hygiene and sanitation in the kitchen.
Menu & Pricing: Assist in developing menus and establishing item pricing.
Culinary Innovation: Identify and implement new culinary techniques and food presentations.
Service: Present and serve food items to students, staff, or visitors.
Safety: Ensure maximum care is taken when operating dangerous kitchen machinery and equipment.
Qualifications and Experience
A Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade of D+ (plus) or its approved equivalent.
A Certificate in Food Production from a recognized institution.
At least three (3) years of relevant work experience.
