Job Description
The Assistant Camp Manager at CDL Human Resource is a critical role responsible for supporting the Camp Manager in the end-to-end operations of the camp facility. The primary focus is on maintaining high standards of Food & Beverage service, ensuring an exceptional guest experience, and managing the logistical and safety aspects of a bush camp environment. The role requires a balance of administrative oversight, guest hosting, and operational management to maintain the camp's unique ethos.
Responsibilities
Food & Beverage Management: Oversee and maintain F&B standards, ensuring high quality in both food preparation and presentation.
Guest Experience & Hosting: Welcome and host all visitors in line with the camp’s ethos, providing personal attention and ensuring special requests are met. Create a warm, friendly atmosphere while balancing guest privacy.
Operational Support: Assist the Camp Manager with the day-to-day running of the entire camp. Implement camp policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
Logistics & Inventory: Manage procurement, stores, and stock control. Ensure accurate month-end stock takes are conducted and submitted on time.
Health, Safety & Hygiene: Ensure strict adherence to health and safety procedures for guests (in-property and during activities) and staff. Maintain high hygiene levels throughout the camp.
Community & Maintenance: Maintain positive relationships with neighbors and local communities. Support the planning of repairs and maintenance for property, plant, and equipment.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality, Hotel Management, or a related field.
Academic Record: KCSE mean grade of B+ and above.
Experience: Over five (5) years of hands-on experience specifically within a bush camp environment.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Food & Beverage quality and presentation; proficiency in stock control and procurement.
Soft Skills: Exceptional hosting and leadership skills, with a strong focus on guest satisfaction.
