Job Description
The Assistant Polytechnic Instructor III (Food and Beverage) is an entry-grade position within the County Polytechnic Instructors cadre. Working under the guidance of a County Polytechnic Principal, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering technical vocational training to students. This role is pivotal in equipping trainees with practical skills in food technology and beverage management, preparing them for the workforce or self-employment.
Responsibilities
Instruct trainees in Food and Beverage specialization in accordance with the prescribed syllabus.
Prepare and maintain essential instructional documents, including schemes of work, lesson plans, and lesson notes.
Develop and organize teaching and learning materials and maintain accurate trainee records.
Conduct trainee assessments both within the classroom environment and during industrial attachments.
Coordinate the storage, care, maintenance, and proper usage of teaching tools, equipment, and materials.
Lead and participate in co-curricular activities for trainees.
Maintain student discipline through active guidance and counseling.
Induct and supervise newly deployed instructors within the polytechnic.
Qualifications and Requirements
Must have a Diploma in Food Technology or Food and Beverage Management from a recognized institution.
Must have training in Pedagogical Skills.
Must be registered by the Technical Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA).
Salary and Terms of Service
Basic Salary: Kshs. 26,900 – 35,380 per month.
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable.
