Role Overview
I&M Bank is seeking a dedicated Assistant Mortgage Product Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying mortgage opportunities, supporting sales teams to grow a healthy mortgage pipeline, and managing mortgage projects from initiation to completion. This role requires a professional with deep expertise in real estate and construction financing, capable of maintaining robust relationships with internal and external stakeholders while ensuring high standards of customer service and credit compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Pipeline Growth: Collaborate with branch staff, Relationship Managers, and sales teams to identify mortgage opportunities and grow a healthy mortgage pipeline.
- Process Facilitation: Support sales teams in moving the pre-approval mortgage pipeline to formal approval and the issuance of offer letters.
- Application Management: Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all new mortgage applications to maintain fast turnaround times and an excellent customer experience.
- Deal Conversion: Manage mortgage and project cases through the entire lifecycle to ensure successful conversion and revenue momentum.
- Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary contact for external stakeholders, including developers and land sellers, as well as internal credit and approval teams.
- Service Excellence: Champion world-class customer service practices across all mortgage touchpoints, adhering to I&M Bank Service standards.
- Product Expertise: Provide ongoing support and product expertise to Relationship Managers and clients, maximizing solution identification.
- Monitoring and Compliance: Monitor account activity, facility payments, and covenant compliance. Ensure strict adherence to credit policy and risk management standards.
- Portfolio Health: Monitor portfolio metrics, including PAR and NPL ratios, and implement corrective measures as needed.
- Continuous Improvement: Conduct post-implementation reviews to identify opportunities for process improvements and support learning initiatives to enhance product knowledge across the bank.
Requirements, Qualifications and Experience
- Academic Background: A University degree in an analytical or business-related course such as Commerce, Actuarial Science, Economics, or Mathematics.
- Advanced Education: A Master’s degree or relevant professional qualifications will be considered an added advantage.
- Industry Experience: At least seven (7) years of experience within the banking industry.
- Specialized Knowledge: Proven experience in real estate, project, or construction financing with a solid understanding of mortgage financing products.
- Technical Skills: Good understanding of banking operations, credit policies, and risk management procedures.
- Soft Skills: Strong relationship management, collaborative, and stakeholder management skills. Must be a coachable professional with a dynamic personality and strong business acumen.
