Job Description
Garissa University (GaU) is seeking to recruit three (3) Administrative Assistant/Research Assistants at Grade 8. This is a hybrid role involving both administrative operational support and research-related tasks within the university. The successful candidates will be responsible for data management, survey execution, and supporting faculty research initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities
Performing administrative operational duties in specific areas of assignment.
Preparing reports and records as may be required by the department.
Analyzing and processing data for administrative planning.
Processing and dissemination of information.
Participating in the development of research and data collection and analysis tools.
Assisting in the design and execution of surveys and making recommendations to inform policy and intervention measures.
Compiling research data and conducting data analysis.
Liaising with faculty members in organizing research surveys, compilation, and analysis.
Assisting in the preparation of regular scheduled reports and the implementation of strategies.
Assisting in applying research innovations that have practical significance in conjunction with the respective Research Fellows.
Carrying out other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.
Job Specifications
For appointment to this grade, a person must possess the following qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in Informatics, Statistics, Computing, Economics, Mathematics, or Actuarial Science from a recognized University.
A Postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage.
Must be registered with the relevant Professional body and in good standing (where applicable).
Proficiency in computer applications.
Must fulfill the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya.
