Accurex Consultants is seeking an Accountant to manage financial records, project costing, budgeting, and compliance within a construction environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, cost control, and supporting project profitability through effective financial management and analysis.\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n\n#### Financial Management and Reporting\n- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports.\n- Manage general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.\n- Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.\n- Monitor cash flow and ensure proper fund allocation across projects.\n\n#### Project Accounting and Cost Control\n- Track project costs including materials, labor, and subcontractor expenses.\n- Prepare and monitor project budgets and forecasts.\n- Analyze cost variances and provide recommendations for cost optimization.\n- Ensure accurate allocation of costs to specific construction projects.\n\n#### Budgeting and Forecasting\n- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.\n- Monitor budget performance and report deviations.\n- Support management in financial planning and decision-making.\n\n#### Compliance and Taxation\n- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, tax regulations, and accounting standards.\n- Prepare and file VAT, PAYE, and other statutory returns.\n- Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.\n- Maintain proper documentation for audit and compliance purposes.\n\n#### Procurement and Payment Control\n- Verify and process supplier invoices and subcontractor payments.\n- Ensure proper approval processes are followed for expenditures.\n- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.\n\n#### Risk Management and Internal Controls\n- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.\n- Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation measures.\n- Ensure adherence to company financial policies and procedures.\n\n#### Teamwork and Collaboration\n- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams.\n- Provide financial insights to support project execution.\n- Participate in financial and operational meetings.\n\n### Qualifications and Experience\n- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.\n- CPA (K) / ACCA or equivalent certification.\n- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in construction or project-based accounting.\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply online via the recruitment portal at or through the application link provided on MyJobMag.
