The Zone Supervisor role at Reeds Africa Consult involves the direct management and supervision of field teams responsible for data collection within a specific geographical zone, particularly in Mombasa County. The core purpose of this role is to ensure the effective execution of daily collection targets, maintain high data quality, ensure team safety, and swiftly resolve any operational challenges encountered in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Directly supervise 3 Team Leaders and their Data Collection Officer (DCO) teams.
- Conduct morning briefings and zone orientation for assigned teams.
- Monitor real-time progress of teams against daily collection targets.
- Perform spot checks on data quality and collection methodology in the field.
- Resolve immediate field challenges (access issues, equipment problems, hostile encounters).
- Ensure team safety and adherence to field protocols.
- Report hourly progress updates to Operations Lead.
- Coordinate with other Zone Supervisors for cross-zone support when needed.
- Verify team attendance and manage daily sign-in/sign-out procedures.
- Escalate unresolved issues to the Operations Lead within 30 minutes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in any field.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in field supervision roles.
- Previous experience in data collection, surveys, or census activities is preferred.
- Experience supervising teams of 15 or more personnel.
- Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of Mombasa County geography and ward boundaries.
- License: Valid driving license preferred.
