This is the entry and training grade for the Water Management Officer cadre within the Narok County Government. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising irrigation infrastructure development, conducting data analysis for planning, and providing training to farmers on sustainable irrigation practices.
Duties and Responsibilities
Supervising irrigation infrastructure development activities.
Analysing data for irrigation planning.
Organizing scheme operation and maintenance activities and environmental management.
Preparing irrigation training materials and operations and maintenance manuals.
Supervising the training of irrigation farmers on sustainable scheme management and resource mobilization.
Identifying irrigation schemes for development.
Developing operational standards.
Implementing irrigation action plans.
Requirements for Appointment
Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Water and Environmental Sciences, Agriculture, Horticulture, Agronomy, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, Agricultural Resource Management, Agriculture and Home Economics, Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural and Bio-Systems Engineering, Soil and Water Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Shortlisted candidates shall be required to produce original and copies of the following documents:
National Identity Card.
Academic and Professional certificates and transcripts that are certified by the issuing institution.
Current Clearances from: Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), a Registered Credit Reference Bureau (CRB), and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (Police Clearance Certificate).
Self-declaration Form duly stamped by the Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC).
