Information about the role\n\nThe Kenya National Youth Service (NYS) is a premier government agency established in 1964, focused on helping Kenyan youth discover and develop their potential. It serves as a key pillar for youth empowerment through a comprehensive master plan. The service is currently inviting young, patriotic Kenyans to join as volunteers for the 2026 intake. Successful candidates will undergo rigorous training and serve the nation in various capacities across the country.\n\n### Responsibilities and Duties\n\n* Undergo intensive Basic Paramilitary Training at the NYS Paramilitary Academy in Gilgil or the NYS Technical Training Institute (NYSTTI) in Naivasha.\n* Offer voluntary service to the Nation in any part of the Republic of Kenya as assigned.\n* Participate in national development projects and community service initiatives.\n* Adhere to the high standards of discipline, integrity, and physical readiness required by the Service.\n* Execute duties in accordance with the NYS 5-Point youth empowerment master plan.\n\n### Skills, Experience, and Qualifications\n\n* Must be a Kenyan citizen and a resident of the respective Sub-County of recruitment.\n* Must be between 18 and 24 years old.\n* Minimum mean grade of D (Plain) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).\n* Must be physically fit and willing to undergo medical examinations before and during the service.\n* Must possess a valid police clearance certificate (Certificate of Good Conduct).\n* Ability to produce original National Identity Card and academic certificates with photocopies.\n* High level of discipline, readiness for paramilitary training, and a commitment to national service.\n* Applicants with demonstrated sports skills or unique talents will have an advantage.\n\n### How to Apply\n\nThe recruitment exercise will take place nationwide from .
