
National Youth Service (NYS)
The Kenya National Youth Service (NYS) is the pride and backbone of the nation, focusing on helping youth discover and develop their potential since 1964. Restructured in 2014, it serves as a premier agency for youth empowerment. NYS is conducting a nationwide recruitment exercise for male and female volunteers throughout the Republic of Kenya. Successful candidates will undergo Basic Paramilitary Training and will be prepared to offer voluntary service to the Nation in any part of the country.
To be eligible for recruitment, prospective applicants must meet the following criteria:
NYS does not condone corruption. Canvassing or offering inducements is an offence and results in disqualification. Incidents should be reported to the Commandant General at 020-2400129.
The recruitment exercise will be conducted throughout the Republic from Monday, 16th March 2026 to Saturday, 21st March 2026, starting at 8:00 a.m. daily.
Applicants should report to the recruitment centers in their respective Sub-Counties with their original documents. Successful candidates will eventually report to the NYS Paramilitary Academy in Gilgil or NYSTTI Naivasha as specified in their calling letters.
