This fixed-term role as the Tupande Avocado Oil Production and Quality Specialist is based in Sagana, on-site at the Tupande Soko factory. This position is vital for overseeing the entire avocado oil production process, ensuring that all products meet customer requirements, are delivered on time, and adhere to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for leading production planning, process optimization, and quality control initiatives to enhance efficiency and foster continuous improvement within the factory. You will report directly to the Processing Manager as part of the Tupande Soko Market Access team.
Responsibilities
- Manage weekly and monthly production schedules, ensuring delivery within budget and meeting quality standards.
- Coordinate with the Aggregation team to ensure a steady raw material supply for uninterrupted production.
- Implement and uphold Food Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) standards across all processing operations.
- Supervise and build the capacity of the production team—including technicians and contractors—through ongoing training and performance management.
- Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and lower production costs.
- Oversee waste management, ensuring handling, reporting, and disposal are in line with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other teams to maintain smooth operations and continuous improvement in factory performance.
Qualifications
For this role specifically, candidates must have:
- A Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Food Science, or Production Engineering, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in avocado oil processing (A must have).
- Strong knowledge of Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS), Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), and Environmental Management.
- Proven team management and leadership experience, with the ability to coach and motivate staff to achieve production goals.
