The Aga Khan Academy Nairobi, operated by Aga Khan Education Service Kenya (AKESK), is seeking a dedicated and qualified Teacher for Computer Studies. AKESK is a non-profit organization with over a century of experience in providing quality education in Kenya. This role focuses on providing an appropriately broad, balanced, and differentiated learning experience for students in accordance with the national curriculum, the school’s objectives, and curriculum policies. The successful candidate will be committed to the school's ethos and values, securing high-quality learning, and improving standards of achievement for all students.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the school’s vision and mission.
Teach students in Computer Studies across various classes and ability levels using agreed schemes of work and assessment procedures.
Develop educational programs that meet the diverse needs, abilities, and interests of learners through various instructional techniques and media.
Evaluate student performance consistently throughout the school year.
Collaborate with colleagues within the faculty to develop instructional materials and schemes of work.
Ensure the safety, well-being, and discipline of all students within the school environment.
Provide additional support to individual students who may be struggling with the content.
Perform supervisory duties in accordance with the school's duty rotas.
Engage in professional meetings with parents and colleagues regarding student progress and teaching responsibilities.
Qualifications and Experience
A Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a BA/BSc with a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (P.G.D.E).
A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience.
Must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
