Talent Grid Africa is a regional consulting firm that partners with leaders in business to handle the complexities of hiring the right talent, engaging them in the right way, improving performance, and retaining top talent. The Showroom Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the retail showroom. This includes managing marketing activities, supervising front-desk cash operations, optimizing store layout, and ensuring exceptional customer service. The role also involves managing stock movements and supervising the sales team to maintain brand standards and achieve profitability.
Responsibilities
Implement all marketing activities in the showroom according to agreed pricing and ongoing special offers and promotions.
Maintain administration, relevant reporting, and planning systems for the showroom and issue timely management and statistical reports.
Supervise cash and payment operations at the front desk in accordance with company procedures and policies, prioritizing staff and customer safety.
Plan and implement store merchandising, layout, and customer traffic flow to maximize sales, customer satisfaction, appearance, image, and ergonomics.
Supervise selling and customer service activities and staff competence to optimize and sustain sales performance and profitability.
Provide quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards.
Supervise all stock movement activities (in/out, transfer, sales etc.) and manage showroom stock to eliminate shortages and perform replenishment efficiently.
Attend morning meetings, take minutes, and share with respective stakeholders.
Liaise with the branch manager to resolve staff issues and conduct regular floor walks to ensure teams are engaging well with clients.
Escalate staff issues to the branch manager and HR manager where necessary.
Monitor performance for the sales teams and advise the branch manager on identified gaps.
Monitor staff grooming and corporate image standards, including uniform cleanliness.
Ensure safety and health measures are complied with, such as PPE usage and fire extinguisher availability.
Requirements
1+ years of experience as a team leader, Sales Supervisor, or Showroom Supervisor in a busy environment.
Business-related Diploma or University Degree, in addition to related training courses (especially sales).
Ability to communicate and motivate via written media.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), internet, and email.
Excellent oral and written skills.
Business background in Retail and Service industries; Furniture retail background is an added advantage.
Critical thinker with the ability to pre-empt and resolve issues amicably.
