The Senior Officer, Technical Partnerships, VPRU+ at the International Rescue Committee (IRC) is a strategic role designed to drive private-sector engagement and resource mobilization for the Violence Prevention and Response Unit (VPRU). This position involves influencing fundraising priorities, developing business development strategies, and aligning technical expertise with donor interests to enhance the IRC's competitiveness in priority areas.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Influence and Guidance (30%)
Influence and guide strategic private-sector engagement across fundraising priorities.
Collaborate with VPRU and Impact @ Scale (I@S) leadership to develop and implement business development strategies, overseeing strategic positioning materials and donor engagement plans.
Represent I@S priority areas within agile teams and thought leadership working groups, shaping donor pathways geared toward scale.
Support alignment across technical and fundraising teams for I@S pipelines and donor pitches.
Business Development (30%)
Provide high-level advisory input to Technical Leads and fundraising teams.
Maintain a portfolio of support for 'ready for scale' priorities.
Develop multifaceted and compelling materials that balance technical depth with clarity of vision for strategic partnerships and 'big bets.'
Support the creation of stewardship plans for restricted and loosely restricted donors in collaboration with account managers and donor engagement teams.
Lead and support proposal development processes for Protection and other priority areas, participating in donor meetings to provide technical expertise.
Internal Coordination & Process Improvements (20%)
Help develop and operationalize standard ways of working and process workflows for cross-functional projects between High Value, Marketing & Mobilization, and VPRU teams.
Coordinate and lead effective cross-functional meetings, ensuring decisions and follow-up actions are taken in a timely manner.
Create information-sharing systems with technical and fundraising counterparts.
Portfolio Management Support (20%)
Engage across the duration of strategic grants to ensure donor requirements are met and compliance issues are addressed.
Design creative, long-term engagement strategies to deepen donor dedication.
Provide post-award project management support on large strategic grants as requested.
Requirements
6-7 years of related work experience, preferably with a large International Non-Governmental Organization (INGO) in programs, fundraising, and/or advocacy.
A University degree (BA/BSc/HND).
Outstanding communication, relationship management, writing, and presentation skills.
Experience with global protection programming in low-resource settings.
Demonstrated experience working with fundraising and grants management processes.
Ability to collaborate and communicate around protection programming and strategy across both technical and lay audiences.
Proven ability to quickly get up to speed on technical content and strategy.
