The Senior Manager, Strategic Projects is responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of high-impact strategic programs within the bank. This involves defining governance arrangements, managing multi-million dollar budgets, and coordinating complex resource allocations across various project teams. The role is pivotal in driving organizational change, ensuring that projects align with business strategy, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Program Planning & Governance: Define and implement the program's governance arrangements and design strategic program structures.
Resource Management: Facilitate resourcing to project teams and ensure optimal allocation of common resources and skills across individual projects.
Financial Management: Manage the program's budget on behalf of the Program Executive, monitoring expenditure and costs against realized benefits.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Manage dependencies, interfaces between projects, and third-party contributions to ensure seamless delivery.
Risk Management: Proactively monitor progress, resolve emerging issues, and manage risks to the program’s successful outcome.
Change Management: Develop and activate viable change management strategies and frameworks to ensure successful project implementation and organizational adoption.
Strategic Alignment & Monitoring: Regularly conduct project health checks focusing on strategy alignment, people, processes, and technology to respond to emerging opportunities and threats.
Continuous Improvement: Work with teams to implement learning programs and frameworks for adoption of changes, and cascade project best practices, templates, and tools.
Qualifications and Experience
Academic Foundations: A Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent is an added advantage.
Professional Certifications: Required certifications in Project Management (PRINCE2, MSP, or SCRUM), Business Analysis (CBAP or Six Sigma), and Change Management (Change Management Practitioner, CMS, CCMF, or CCMP).
Experience: A minimum of 8 years in Project Delivery, with at least 5 years specifically managing large-scale projects.
Leadership Skills: Strong people management capability and demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
