Our client based in Nairobi industrial area is recruiting for a Sales Executive to be responsible for promoting and selling office supplies to businesses, schools, and individual customers. The role involves identifying potential customers, managing the sales process from presentation to delivery, and maintaining long-term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Identify potential customers including schools, offices, and retailers.
- Promote stationery products such as pens, ink, and general office supplies.
- Meet or exceed established sales targets.
- Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients.
- Respond to customer inquiries and provide detailed product information.
- Handle complaints efficiently to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
Order Management
- Process customer orders accurately and promptly.
- Follow up on deliveries to ensure timely supply to clients.
- Coordinate effectively with the warehouse or suppliers.
Market Research
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities.
- Identify new sales opportunities and evolving customer needs.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of sales, clients, and transactions.
- Prepare daily and weekly sales reports for management.
- Track inventory levels and inform management when stock is low.
Product Knowledge
- Stay updated on all stationery products and pricing structures.
- Explain product features and benefits clearly to prospective customers.
Field Work & Visits
- Visit clients regularly, including schools, offices, and shops.
- Conduct product demonstrations where necessary.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Degree or diploma preferably in Sales or a Business-related field.
- Must have worked as Sales personnel preferably in a Stationery supply, distribution, and wholesale firm, or have demonstrable experience selling FMCG to corporates and schools.
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role with demonstrable performance.
- Ability to handle rejection by customers while remaining calm and collected.
- Trustworthy, professional, and reliable when dealing with confidential information.
- Strong integrity.
