Sales and Collections Internship - Bungoma

This internship seeks a committed, deadline-driven sales intern to join Tenakata's sales team in Bungoma. Tenakata is licensed by the Central Bank of Kenya as a Digital Credit Provider, focused on empowering small businesses in Africa through financial record-keeping, promoting financial literacy via business support coaching, and ensuring the secure sharing of reliable financial information with financial institutions.

The intern will support both sales and collections efforts, crucial for achieving branch targets. The role involves completing all tasks assigned by the manager.

Responsibilities (What You Will Do)

The sales intern will primarily focus on the following duties:

• Work collaboratively in pairs with Business Development Officers and Collections Officers.
• Support and maintain an excellent work environment conducive to achieving branch targets.
• Deliver first-rate customer service.
• Assist in accurate and timely reporting of Management Information and market feedback regarding customer preferences, trends, and market opportunities.
• Assist in contacting debtors to receive payment and following up on defaulters to recover payments.
• Carry out customer education initiatives and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Generate sales leads.

Key Operational Duties

The role encompasses core sales support functions, including:

• Conducting market research.
• Identifying business opportunities.
• Making cold calls.
• Participating in meetings.

Qualifications

Successful candidates must possess:

• A good level of general education (Diploma or Degree).
• Computer literacy.
• Educational background in Sales or Marketing.
• Experience in a related field will be an added advantage.
• Experience in a financial institution will be an added advantage.
