Kenyatta University is seeking a Risk Officer (Grade C/D) to participate in the development and implementation of the University-wide risk management framework. The successful candidate will play a critical role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across all University operations to ensure institutional stability and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Risk Management Framework: Participate in the development and implementation of the University-wide risk management framework.
Risk Assessments: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments across all University operations.
Regulatory Compliance: Support the Risk Manager in ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Legislation Monitoring: Monitor changes in legislation and emerging risks affecting the higher education sector and make reports to the Chief Internal Auditor.
Control Oversight: Oversee risk controls within all University operations.
Ethics & Whistleblowing: Participate in the development and/or review of whistleblowing and ethics frameworks.
Business Continuity: Liaise with the Risk Manager in developing, testing, and monitoring the University’s Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and disaster recovery arrangements.
Other Duties: Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Risk Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Professional Certifications: Possession of recognized certifications such as Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or any other international risk certification.
Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience.
Terms of Service
Basic salary and a house allowance provided.
