We are currently seeking a Reliever Music Teacher for a maternity cover position. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and developing the ethos of the school while ensuring that teaching, planning, and assessment meet the diverse learning and social needs of students.
Responsibilities
Maintain and develop the ethos of the school in accordance with directions from the Directors and Principal.
Teach classes and ensure that planning, preparation, recording, assessment, and reporting meet varying learning and social needs.
Contribute to constructive team-building among teaching and non-teaching staff, parents, and Directors.
Implement agreed school policies and guidelines in consultation with the Principal.
Support initiatives decided by the Principal and other staff members.
Plan appropriately to meet the needs of all students through differentiation of tasks.
Set clear targets for student learning based on prior attainment.
Provide a stimulating classroom environment where resources are accessible to all students.
Keep appropriate and efficient records of work, integrating formative and summative assessments into planning.
Report to parents on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
Maintain good order and discipline amongst students in accordance with the school’s behavior policy.
Participate in meetings related to school management, curriculum, administration, and organization.
Lead, organize, and direct support staff within the classroom environment.
Participate in the performance management system for effective service delivery.
Attend staff meetings, seminars, and co-curricular events associated with the school curriculum.
Carry out supervisory duties and assist with out-of-school activities as needed from time to time.
Ensure prompt and regular attendance of students and report absences to the Principal or Deputy Principal in a timely manner.
Promote a professional image of self as a teacher and uphold the school's standards through appropriate dress and conduct.
Requirements
Bachelor of Education - Music or its equivalent from a recognized University/Institution.
Must be a registered member of the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
A minimum of 3 years teaching experience in a recognized school.
