Job Description
US Pharmacopeia (USP) is an independent, scientific nonprofit organization that has focused on building trust in the supply of safe, quality medicines since 1820. We are a public health organization that uses rigorous science and public quality standards setting to protect patient safety and improve global health. The MCH Regional Technical Manager provides regional oversight and support to Country Consultants to ensure the achievement of project objectives related to Postpartum Hemorrhage (PPH) activities. This role involves planning and implementation of demand generation, procurement, and supply chain management for maternal health medicines across the assigned region.
Responsibilities
Regional Oversight & Support: Provide support to PPH Country Consultants and collaborate on PPH activities in selected countries. Support the planning of demand generation and procurement for maternal health medicines under the Senior Technical Manager.
Technical Coordination & Quality Assurance: Work with HQ technical teams and country representatives to standardize approaches and maintain quality across implementations. Coordinate with other implementing partners to align supply chain strengthening efforts.
Stakeholder Engagement: Lead engagement with key regional stakeholders to ensure understanding and buy-in for PPH project objectives. Facilitate external meetings and workshops with stakeholders in the maternal health ecosystem.
Risk Mitigation & Reporting: Identify and escalate risks affecting project implementation and support the development of mitigation strategies. Ensure documentation of program activities and contribute to donor reporting.
Travel: Conduct regular visits (approximately 30% travel) to assigned countries in the region to support planning and implementation.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacy, public health, or a related field.
Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in global public health, specifically in procurement and supply chain management of maternal health medical products.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting multi-country or regional donor-funded programs in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Proven ability to communicate effectively, influence stakeholders, and tailor messages to diverse audiences.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong oral and written communication skills with fluency in English required.
Fluency in French is required for the West Africa–based position (liaison role).
