Role Overview
The Regional Accountant is responsible for managing financial operations, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and government standards at the regional level. This role supports the Ministry's objectives through sound financial management, budgeting, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers for the RPCMU.
Prepare and present periodic financial reports and statements.
Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, internal controls, and public sector accounting standards.
Manage regional budgets and monitor expenditures.
Facilitate both internal and external audit processes.
Manage financial transactions and maintain up-to-date bookkeeping.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Minimum of a BA/BSc/HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Certifications: Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPA-K or equivalent) are required.
Experience: Practical experience in accounting or financial management as per the Ministry's detailed job descriptions.
