Job Description
As the Accounting Team Lead / QuickBooks Online Accounting Lead, you will be responsible for independently managing the full-cycle accounting for U.S.-based restaurant and multi-unit franchise clients. This tech-forward role requires a leader who can maintain audit-ready financial records, manage restaurant-specific accounting complexities, and lead system migrations. You will operate within U.S. Eastern Time business hours, providing proactive financial insights and optimizing workflows through technology and AI enablement.
Key Responsibilities
QuickBooks Online Accounting Leadership
Independently manage full-cycle accounting in QuickBooks Online.
Maintain clean, accurate, and audit-ready financial records.
Oversee accruals, sales tax filings, and tip accounting.
Identify and resolve discrepancies and restructure books as needed.
Ensure financial reporting supports scalability and operational insight with strong balance sheet ownership.
Restaurant & Multi-Unit Accounting Support
Support multi-location restaurant and franchise clients.
Manage complexities such as tip allocation, sales tax tracking/reconciliation, and multi-unit reporting structures.
Track Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and food & beverage expenses.
Understand restaurant workflows, POS systems, and operational terminology.
Restaurant365 (R365) Transition & Systems Development
Support the migration from QuickBooks Online to Restaurant365.
Assist in data cleanup, system configuration, and reporting optimization.
Contribute to building scalable accounting systems and learn new platforms (training provided).
Process Improvement & Technology Enablement
Develop and document accounting workflows and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Identify inefficiencies and evaluate automation tools or AI-enabled workflows.
Contribute to a tech-forward environment where innovation is encouraged.
Collaboration & Communication
Work directly with U.S.-based leadership and accounting team members.
Provide proactive updates and communicate financial issues clearly.
Manage workload independently and meet strict deadlines.
Operate effectively within U.S. Eastern Time business hours.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Certification: CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of hands-on accounting or bookkeeping experience.
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets.
Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of core accounting fundamentals (accruals, reconciliations, balance sheet management) and familiarity with U.S. GAAP.
Communication: Excellent written and spoken English skills.
Attributes: High attention to detail, accuracy, and a willingness to embrace change and new technologies.
