The Quality Engineer for Customer Quality & DQA will define and specify activities, processes, and standards to fulfill the quality requirements for manufactured materials, components, and products. The role holder will continuously monitor the quality of products received, stored, and dispatched to ensure all meet set and agreed standards, driving a consistent product experience to the end customer across markets.\n\n### Responsibilities\n- Quality Management: Sample and visually monitor the quality of all imported products, locally manufactured products, and stocks in trade. Ensure all products dispatched meet quality requirements and labeling compliance for country-specific quality standards.\n- Analysis: Drive and guide primary analysis of customer returns and field defects. Deliver analysis reports to manufacturers for improvement. Follow up for timely implementations of solutions and provide weekly and monthly analysis reports to the Product Quality & Engineering team. Lead solutions for non-product related and customer awareness issues.\n- Project Management: Track data, identify improvement projects, and manage cross-functional implementation to maintain and improve quality standards.\n- Data Management: Audit data accuracy in the system and ensure data input is complete for product failure rate analysis. Proactively highlight field failures and ensure follow-up actions.\n- Auditing & Monitoring: Determine the quality of local manufacturing processes against internal and regulatory standards. Audit cross-functional departments (service centers, warehouses, call centers) to ensure pre-defined protocols are followed.\n- Training & Guidance: Provide training, coaching, and guidance to teams across Opcos to execute quality improvement activities and special projects.\n- Safety: Coordinate safety and quality standards from storage to movement. Support company-wide safety awareness initiatives and organize the disposal of unrepairable goods.\n- Reporting: Manage weekly and monthly Management Review Meeting (MRM) reports for Kenya. Troubleshoot manufacturing process deviations and defects in finished goods.\n\n### Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)\n- Turnaround time (TAT) for issue identification and resolution.\n- Product Defect Rate improvement.\n- Auditing & Improvement plans.\n- Timely inspection and analysis.\n- Gap Analysis execution.\n- Meeting safety KPIs.\n- Daily, weekly, and monthly QC reports.\n\n### Requirements\n- A Bachelor's degree in a Technical related field (Electronics preferable).\n- A Diploma in Quality Control Management is an added advantage.\n- Certifications in Six Sigma, Quality Gates, Quality tools, and Auditing are desired.\n- Minimum of 6-10 years of experience in a quality assurance and product development environment within a manufacturing setup (Consumer electronics, Home Appliances, or Solar Appliances preferred).\n- Deep understanding of quality management processes and procedures.\n- Proficiency in MS Office applications and presentation skills.\n- Strong mindset for continuous improvement and confidentiality.\n- Superior verbal and written communication skills with tact and diplomacy; knowledge of Swahili is preferred.\n- Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.\n- Passion for social enterprise and environmental benefits.\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply online through the d.light recruitment portal via the following link: https://www.myjobmag.co.ke/apply-now/1188552
