The role of Purchasing Officer/Clerk seeks an experienced individual to join the purchasing team and execute procurement strategies across the supermarket, wholesale, and restaurant businesses. The core responsibility involves handling purchasing activities collaboratively with the team, ensuring that the availability of goods is strictly governed by stock levels, sales velocity, and company cash flow in a timely and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in procurement planning and support the implementation of purchasing strategies in line with the established budget.
- Handle Supplier Management, including conducting negotiations with suppliers in line with company procurement procedures, while actively building and maintaining long-term supplier relationships.
- Work collaboratively with finance, operations, and logistics teams to align purchasing decisions with overall business needs.
- Align purchase decisions strategically with sales trends, stock velocity, and company cash flow objectives, ensuring maximum cost savings are achieved.
- Conduct thorough evaluation and selection of suppliers based on performance metrics, reliability, and compliance.
- Perform stock analysis to ensure optimal availability and appropriate stock holding levels, and manage all necessary supplier communications.
- Ensure timely reporting and accountability related to all purchasing activities.
Qualification Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Purchasing & Supplies or Management.
- At least 4 years of relevant work experience in a purchasing or procurement role.
- Must be fully conversant with established procurement principles and best practices.
- Proficient in utilizing ERP Accounting systems.
- Possess Strong Communication Skills.
- Demonstrate high Professional Ethics & Integrity.
